I’m not surprised at all to hear the reactions from the House Republicans who decided to defense DOMA in court. Because the Obama Administration wouldn’t bother to defend a Federal law because of course they disagree with. Which of course is their right and of course California not bothering to defend California Proposition 8 which banned Gay-marriage in. California which of course ia a California proposition which of course the Brown Administration in California. Disagrees with that proposition and they are within their rights not to defend a law in court that they disagree with. My point being that the opposition to same-sex-marriage is so weak now, not just the support of it. But also their arguments that they can no longer make the states rights issue for marriage when it comes to DOMA. Because marriage is a states issue, so their goes the Federalist case for DOMA as well because again. Marriage is a states issue. That now the opponents are very limited in how they can defend their position to opposing Gay-marriage in the United States.

The opposition to DOMA is simply based on the fact that they have a personal as well as a religious beliefs. That marriage is between a man and a women and they are going to do everything that they can to keep that as is. So in that sense they are acting Conservative in the sense they want to protect the status quo. But they aren’t Conservative in the Federalist sense as far as who defines marriage in America. The Federal Government or the states. This is not about proposing some law saying that Gay-Marriage is the law of the land and that all. States have to recognize it which I would be against for Federalist reasons. But what this ruling says is that if a Gay-couple in New York who are married. If New York says they are married then the Federal Government has no business in saying that they aren’t married and. Denying them rights and benefits that Straight-couples already get. That you can’t put Straights in a different class than Gays and vice versa that they are both equal.

So a reason why I believe the opposition to Gay-marriage is so weak now. And I’m not going to layout my whole opinion about the opposition to Gay-marriage in this one post. But one reason why the opposition to Gay-marriage is so weak now. Is because they are down to basically one leg to stand on when it comes to this issue. That they are against it because they believe its wrong and that Homosexuality as whole is wrong as well and shouldn’t be supported. Rather than making a states rights or Federalist or even a political Conservative argument against. Gay-marriage because those points are not there because marriage is a states issue. And where the U.S. Supreme Court comes in is not to decide whether they agree with laws or not. But rather are they constitutional or not which is what the Supreme Court did today.
